Barbarians
2011 Season Report
Saturday 11th June 2011
Today we played at home to the Wingham Wanderers. Well, what a morning! It was wet, raining, cold and muddy but most of all the kids thought it was fun. With a lot of mud spraying to faces the Barbarian’s played very well in the most trying of conditions. We were missing two of our players so a little more ground coverage was the call of the day. The team was consistent in their passing game and with accuracy 3 goals were scored. Alex Slade continues to be fantastic in goals and deflects the ball extremely well. Adam Kreuzberger and Cooper Earley both had a terrific game in the backs defending brilliantly, whilst Molly Arens, Patrick Moses and Max Lynch kept the ball in motion in the midfield all manoeuvring the ball forward to Isaac Cross who skilfully passes to another team member, or slots it in for a goal.
The Barbarians are a skilled bunch of kids who entertain the crowd each and every week. It was great to see the team with smiles after the game even though you had to scrape the mud off first.
Congratulations kids!
